Summer Jubilee Show and Sale, this coming Saturday, July 31st here at the pottery, from 9:30 to 5.

I burned the last glaze kiln before the summer show, Wednesday, the 28th. It has lots of Jack-O-Lanterns, Blue Iris, Red Thistle and Seafood in it. The Jack-O-Lanterns are GREAT!!!! If I do say so myself. The kiln took longer than anticipated cooling but I peeked in around 10 P.M. Thursday and all looks good. Some of the Jacks were really close to the fire and bleached out a bit but the facial expressions were enhanced! I hope you like them too.
I have a great selection this year and the "in stock" copper fountains will be @ 45% off regular price!!! I am closing out this line. What a great price for a wonderful piece of artwork and they even include the pump!!!!! These pieces are made in Soronto, Louisiana. All the rest of the ware in the shop is 15 % off. I know it's not alot but anything is a help. Right?
Joanne has had us busy in the back yard cleaning, raking and setting up the Sugar Kettles. This is a work in progress and will eventually be a nice cozy retreat celebrating the history of Clay City. For now it is a fun and funky back yard. Joanne's husband Charlie produced our mailout cards this year and also the posters. Thanks Charlie!!!!!! Their daughter, Googie, has been helping with raking the back yard and vacuming under the shelves, though I don't think she is especially fond of the latter.
Carolyn has been busy with the showroom arranging, rearranging and straightening up, packing items to ship, answering the phone and tending to our customers needs. Who would have thought as fast as things leave our shelves we would still need to dust?!!!Never a slow moment. Carolyn and Joanne also got inspired and are now making the "Clay City Candles" in my pottery containers. They are Soy Wax blend fragrant candles. They do burn longer than traditional candles and soy wax, made from soy beans, is a renewable resource! We do have a good time at Clay City!
Pam will be busy in the kitchen tomorrow (Friday) with the help of my sis Sallie baking up and preparing all kinds of goodies for you to sample on Saturday. She is also making more ear rings for "The Cricket Collection". What a busy lady and to think she has a REAL Job to boot!
Even my neighbor Harry has been grooming the yard and keeping the weeds at bay.
You Go Guy!
I , on the other hand, am just sitting back enjoying a cold beer on the veranda watching the  lizards and lightning bugs while my "Staff" is keeping this finely tuned machine running smoothly. Hope to see
you soon!!!!

If you are interested in bringing a group out to tour the pottery, just give me a call and we can set a date for you. Some groups just "drop by" which is fine, too, though I may be glazing & unable to give a demonstration of turning on the wheel for you.

Visiting our area? I suggest staying at either Bay Breeze Guest House on Mobile Bay where you can enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets or Church Street Inn in uptown Fairhope, easy walking distance to all of the great downtown shopping. Call for availability @ (866) 928-8976 or visit their web site, www.bbonline.com/al/baybreeze.

While strolling thru Fairhope be sure stop in at the "Fairhope History Museum "
to enjoy the continually changing exhibits, this is a must do in Fairhope.

I   hope you enjoy browsing our website. Be sure to print a map from the "Visit Us" page.

My greyhounds " Coast " & " Blue Dog " , our Maltese/Yorkie " Cricket " and I are looking forward to your visit. See you soon!
